Interior work happens inside your daily life, so we keep it predictable. Here is what the job looks like from the first phone call to the last piece of tape coming off.

We walk the rooms with you
We look at every wall, ceiling and door you want painted, note the repairs and answer questions about sheen, color and timing.

Color help before we start
We bring samples and paint big swatches on your walls so you can see them in morning light and again at sunset before you commit.

Prep day comes first
Furniture moves to the middle and gets covered, floors get papered, holes get patched and every edge gets masked before a brush opens.

Ceilings, then walls, then trim and doors. Two coats where the color calls for it, cut in by hand for lines that stay straight.

The Preparation Process
Most of an interior job happens before any color goes up. Prep is the part you never see in the finished room, and it is the reason the finish still looks good three years later. Here is what our painters do before they open the first can.
- Furniture moved to the center and wrapped, floors covered wall to wall
- Nail holes, dents and cracked corner bead filled, sanded smooth and spot primed
- Old glossy trim scuff sanded so the new coat grabs and stays put
- Water stains and bare patches sealed with a stain blocking primer
- Caulk run along trim, baseboards and crown so lines read sharp
- Switch plates and hardware removed, not painted around
- Dust kept down with vacuum sanders and daily cleanup

How long does interior painting take?
A single room with smooth walls is usually done in a day or two. A full house repaint in Pacific Palisades, Brentwood, or Santa Monica typically runs five to ten working days, depending on how many rooms, the ceiling height, the amount of crown and baseboard, and how much patching the walls need. Vaulted ceilings, built-ins, and color changes that need a third coat all add time. We give you a written schedule before we start so you know which rooms we are in each day.
Do I need to move out while you paint?
No, most families stay right at home. We work room by room, move furniture to the center and cover it, keep walkways clear, and use low odor, low VOC paints so the house stays comfortable at night. We also clean up at the end of every day and put everything back where it belongs once the job is done.
Do you help pick colors?
Yes, and we do it in your actual light. We bring sample boards and paint large swatches on the walls you are considering, then look at them together in morning light, afternoon sun, and with your lamps on after dark. Colors shift a lot in West LA homes because of the ocean light, so we never push you to decide from a tiny chip.
How many coats of paint will you apply?
Two finish coats over a proper primer is our standard. Deep colors, bold accent walls, and big jumps, like going from dark red to soft white, sometimes need a third coat to read evenly. If that is the case, we tell you during the estimate so the price reflects it from day one, not halfway through the job.
What kind of paint do you use?
We use professional grade products from Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore, chosen for the room. Kitchens and baths get a scrubbable satin or eggshell so grease and moisture wipe off. Bedrooms and living rooms usually get a soft matte or eggshell that hides wall texture without looking flat. If you have a brand or sheen you prefer, we are happy to work with it.
What does the price depend on?
The biggest factors are square footage, wall condition, ceiling height, trim detail, and color change. A room with nail pops, cracked corners, and old wallpaper takes longer than one with fresh drywall. Crown molding, wainscoting, and lots of doors also add labor. We look at all of this during the free estimate and spell it out in writing.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. We are a licensed California painting contractor with general liability and workers compensation coverage. We can email you the certificates before the job starts so you, your HOA, or your property manager have them on file.
